The consultation
by the UK Government, Scottish Executive, Welsh Assembly Government
and the Northern Ireland Administration seeks your views and
ideas on what should be UK sustainable development strategy,
and what we and others need to do to meet the challenges we
face. The consultation was launched on 21 April.
Sustainable development is about making economic, social and
environmental progress in such a way that we achieve development
that meets the needs of the present without compromising the
ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Action
is needed by all to make further progress. For more details

The event
will focus on the theme Helping Communities to Help Themselves.
We will identify local good practice for sustainable development,
the issues and obstacles faced by local practice and recommendations
for regional and national guidelines to create better conditions
for community-based initiatives for sustainable development.
