Sunday FEBRUARY 25TH 2007 11.30am - all afternoon
Practical Conservation tasks on the
Permaculture site, Knollmead, Surbiton

Working on the keyhole bed.... weaving and clearing....... cutting willow........ weaving the compost toilet screen in pooh corner, bramble.cutting and digging out the brambles.....

JOHN FELLOWES SENT THIS........It would be nice if we could keep track of seasonal changes each month, and join in with the UK Phenology Network (phenology.org.uk or naturescalendar.org.uk) . If anyone's interested, things to look out for in January include budburst and first leaf of Elder, first flower of Hazel, first flower of Lesser Celandine, and first spawn of Frog. SO LETS DO THAT AGAIN ON SUNDAY!!!!

This site was designed about 15 years ago using the Permaculture philosophy of combining gardening and nature conservation. Tea and biscuits provided. Bring along secateurs (for those who want to continue the 'battle of the bramble'), gloves and any gardening equipment that you think you'll need. Please wear stout footwear and protective clothing. This site is uneven underfoot and the bramble thorns vicious! Secateurs, lobbers and leather gardening gloves are ideal.

Kingston Permaculture Reserve (KPR). At Tolworth roundabout turn into Barnsbury Lane. Right at Hazel Bank, left at Alpine Avenue and follow signs for Knollmead Primary School. .Leave vehicle on the road and walk into allotment site. Turn right at T-junction and the site is at the end of the track. You can bring bikes on site.

Hope to see you there best wishes Simone Kay
